Randy Cushing graduated high school on Friday in May 1972. The next day he opened his first sewing machine store in Scottsboro, AL, with the name of S & R Sewing Machine Co. His father was a very successful Singer sewing machine dealer and had a store in Huntsville, AL, named S & S Sewing Machine Co. After thirty-two years of successful business is Scottsboro, Randy made the decision to open a second store in Huntsville, AL, which he called Huntsville Sew & Vac.
On April 1, 2008, Randy Cushing sold Huntsville Sew & Vac to me, Donna Cagle. I have been sewing since the age of 9. I started machine embroidering in 1992 and I have been digitizing for about 8 years. I have also been quilting for about 3 years. I enjoy all aspects of the sewing, quilting and embroidery industry. I also enjoy meeting new customers and most of my customers so far have become very close friends. I strive very hard to make sure that this store is filled with a respectable, comfortable and friendly atmosphere.
We have a very knowledgable and experienced service department. Floyd Holcomb has been a very valued employee. He has over 30 years of sewing machine and vacuum cleaner repair experience. In most cases, all repairs are ready within 48 hours.
We have been a long time dealer for Janome Sewing Machines and Riccar Vacuum Cleaners. Since I purchased the store we have added a large selection of fabrics, the TinLizzie18 Long Arm Quilting Machine, Brother Sewing Machines and Lindhaus Vacuums. We also offer a wide variety of sewing, quilting, embroidery and computer classes with affordable fees.
